So far, I think I’ve been achieving my ‘little less online / iPhone’ time. The real hard part is about to start though – back to work. Sitting at a computer 8 hours a day gets you in the habit of regularly checking emails and always being ‘on’. The bus ride becomes the perfect browsing time, and waiting for a coffee becomes eBay-stalking time (a pointless venture at the moment though, with too little cash to burn).
My final day of this easy freedom has been one of accomplishment and project-ing so far. For the first time, maybe ever, I managed to stay at home, by myself and actually do something without going crazy. Normally any more than a couple of hours cooped up drives me insane. And it’s all because of a simple list I created last night – Things To Do on Tuesday.
After 24 years I think I have finally put what I’ve learnt about myself into practice – to have a successful nothing day, a list is essential. Something that drags us out of bed even when it seems impossible, and brings the easiest sense of achievement there is.
Four things I love right now, and forever:
– Jemima Kirke
– Shibori (need to get that on my creative list)
